Absolute Requirement July 4, 2010 Grant Fritchey (MA) If you're the person that runs backups and does nothing else with SQL Server, maybe, this book isn't for you. If you have any other level of responsibility with programming or maintaining databases within SQL Server, you absolutely have to have this book. There is no other resource as powerful as this one for understanding what is occurring within SQL Server. If you write queries or create indexes, you have to know how SQL Server is storing and retrieving your data, how it maintains it's memory, everything. It's all here in this book. What's more, the writing is so good, and clear, you can really use the book to learn. I can't sing the praises loud enough of long enough. This book is simply a requirement if you work with SQL Server.
aweful none delivery March 30, 2010 J. Wong (Houston, TX, US) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is excellent. I found it at Barnes and Noble, read at the store, decided to buy one. I ordered one here, money was taken on March 6th, 2010, promised delivery by March 29th, 2010. It never arrived. It is a scam. In USA, city-to-city standard delivery will not take more than 3 days. I highly recommend this book but beware where you buy from. I am going to bn.com to buy another one.
